Google Classroom

As children continue to access their learning remotely, St Bernadette's will use Google Workspace as a platform for children to access the curriculum if they are unable to attend school. We will also be using Google Classroom for the children to access regular homework. Information on what this will look like in each class is on your Welcome Letter.

Isolating

If your child requires remote learning, for the first day they should access Education City, RMEasimaths and Times Tables Rockstars. This gives staff the opportunity to set work for the following day. Your child will receive an email to their Gmail account (school email address) at 9am. This email will include the work to be completed that day. This work should be completed and returned to their teacher via email. Once your child's teacher has received this email, they will send the next days work and respond with comments on the work that has been submitted. 

School Closure

Should school close, teachers will use Google Classroom to set the children work. Staff will be expected to have uploaded work for children to access by 9am each day. Your child will need to access and upload their completed activities each day. All work will have a deadline of 9pm. Please be aware any work that is submitted after the deadline will not be marked; however, you are still more than welcome to have a go at the task. Some of the work set may be practical and will not require you to submit a completed piece of work.

We ask that you get in touch with your teacher if you are having any problems with the work set via Google Classroom. This may be on the stream, through comments or to your class email address (please see below). If you are still unsure of how to log on or need your password resetting, please email google.classroom@st-bernadette.blackpool.sch.uk and Miss Scarlett will be in touch.

Google Classroom is a free and secure learning network for teachers, students and schools. It provides a safe way for us to connect, share content, access homework, participate in discussions and receive class information. Google Classroom can be accessed through a free App either on the Apple Store or Google Play on both Apple and Android devices (phones and ipads), as well as through the internet on laptops or desktops.
