Solar Energy
St Bernadette's School produces between 5% and 6% of its own electricity needs (averaged over the year) through the installation of Solar panels on the school roof. The project was completed by Solarenergy in June 2009 having received funding from the Cooperative (50%) and the Government's (BERR) Low Carbon Building Programme (50%).
Access data on the amount of energy generated since installation on a daily, monthly or annual basis.
This data has a lot of uses. Daily, Monthly or Annual Data is available for every day since installation. Can you answer some of these questions? You need to look at the relevant graphs for daily or monthly data.
Is the shortest day (start to finish time) of electricity production the same day as the official shortest day in 2009?
Has the longest day in 2009 (21st June 2009) produced the highest amount of energy? Does it reflect the longest day in sunrise/sunset times?
Does the day with the largest total of energy produced in 2010 equate to the hottest day this year?
Why does the the length of sunshine vary from day to day, and month to month?
